Bhubaneswar, April 15: Summers have never been a good friend when it comes to mane matters. As the temperature rises, it brings along a long list of hair woes that takes a long time to fix.
Hair care expert Boney Sasidharan was in town last week to kiss the hair worries goodbye. Sasidharan threw light on some of the basics of hair care and tress styling. Various beauty experts and young girls from the twin cities interested in learning the nitty-gritties hair management attended the workshop.
A present, Sasidharan is associated with a reputed international cosmetic brand and has mastered the art of hair styling. In the two-hour session, he gave his expert opinion on how to take care of the unmanageable frizzy hair in the scorching summer. The workshop also included a practical class on how to shape the tresses that suit one’s face. Lastly, he spoke about hair colouring and the necessary precautionary measures after colouring your hair.
Sasidharan spoke about one of the most common myths about the presence of ammonia in hair colour.
“Most of us are under the impression that ammonia is not good for hair, which is not true. Ammonia only helps in developing the hair colour. But just to relieve tension, many companies have launched non-ammonia hair colour products,” said Sasidharan.
According to Sasidharan, hair colour prepared from natural ingredients such as ectoin, grape seed oil, bee wax and organic essence, are also available in the market.
At the workshop, Sasidharan taught the participants the various ways in which coloured hair loses its shine and shimmer. Swimming can be the biggest reason behind a nice hair colour turning into a nightmare.
Sasidharan said that a good hair protection in form of serum or conditioner could stop the breaking of colour molecules from the hair. The expert also advised the participants to use shampoo that is specifically meant for artificially coloured hair.
The most interesting part of the entire session was the hair trimming and hair styling session, where Sasidharan gave a demonstration on a perfect cut best suited for a round face. To give the model a more glamourous look, he dyed her hair with non-ammonia auburn shade hair colour that immediately revamped the model’s look.
Beauticians and hair experts followed Sasidharan’s tips closely.
“It was a good lesson for all the beauticians present here. We have a huge clientele, especially during the summers, who complain about their distorted hair colour. We got the opportunity to learn a lot of tips thorough this workshop,” said Lisa, a beauty expert.
