Jajpur: Police busted a duplicate lubricant manufacturing and trading unit and arrested two persons on Wednesday for their involvement in the illegal practice.
The police officials have also seized 100 litres of duplicate engine oil of popular brands, empty lubricant plastic cans, sealing caps, paper seals, stickers and hologram of lubricant brands, lubricant dye, loose lubricants, chemicals and mixing drum from them.
The accused were preparing and selling duplicate engine oil in a forest area near Pakhara-Taranjia road in Jajpur district.
Dharmasala police station inspector-in-charge Umakanta Nayak said: "We have arrested only two persons of the unit and are interrogating them to get information. More people, including the unit's kingpin, are at large. We have identified them and would arrest them soon."
The police have not revealed the identity of the arrested persons as it will hamper the investigation process.
The police said the racket had been operating in the area for the past two years.
