Bhubaneswar, Oct. 12: Those who cannot stop raving about films like Hachi and Marley and Me are in for a treat. This Diwali, an Odia film showing the camaraderie between a man and his best friend, a dog, will hit theatres this Diwali week.

The film, apart from having a good star cast, features many Golden Retrievers and Labradors.

Tame Thile Sathire is about the protagonist Badal portrayed by Deepak and his pack of pet dogs. Subrat Dash, played by veteran actor Bijay Mohanty, is a popular politician. Actor Kuna Tripathy essays his political rival Rajeswar.

He forces Subrat to commit suicide by implicating him in various false cases. After eliminating him from the competition, Rajeswar now tries to kill Subrat’s heir, Badal.

However, the evil scheme of Rajeswar is laid to rest by Romeo, Badal’s pet dog.

Romeo also takes help from other dogs, mostly Labradors and Golden Retreivers to avenge the injustice done.

Director Sanjay Nayak is known for using animals in his films.

“It usually requires two or three retakes for actors but it is naturally very hard when you have an animal involved.

“No matter how well trained they are, a perfect shot may come after 10 retakes. So, as a film maker you need to understand the temperament of the animal just like you need to know the comfort level of your lead pair,” Nayak said.

He has also done the screenplay and penned the dialogues.

Eight trained canines were brought from Chennai and most part of the shooting took place at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The dogs will be seen doing a number of tricks.

Deepak, who was last seen in Sapanara Nayika, has high hopes from this film.

“I once had a pet dog but it died. I have no problems creating a bond withdogs,” he said. Ragini plays his love interest in the film.

Though she did not turn up for the launch, Deepak was all praise for his leading lady. The film also stars actor Pintu Nanda and Chakradhar Jena. The music has been scored by Premanand.
