Capacity-building event for educators

Science fair

An intra-school science, mathematics and social sciences exhibition was organised at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL (Utkal Alumina International Ltd), recently. Students from classes I to X put up an array of exhibits. The runners-up in science were Ayashkant Seth and Arman Tiwary, Shreyansh Panda and Suraj Panda. The winners were Devanshu Panda and Sara Sanjay Sakhare. The projects of Himanshu Sekar Sahu and Nobendra Naik, Neha Pandey and Subhashree Subhakankshi were adjudged as runners-up whereas Smruti Rekha Sarangi and Sanskruti Parida were winners.
 
Book distribution

The Ganjam Muslim Culture Association in Berhampur organised a free book distribution programme for students of Odia medium schools for classes IX and X. Forty-three Class-IX students and 33 Class-X students got books free of cost. The event aims to inculcate the value and essence of education to inspire the students belonging to both Hindu and Muslim communities. 

Smart classes

Dibya Singh Deb, scion of the erstwhile Puri royal family, and Nalco CMD T.K. Chand inaugurated a smart classrooms project at the Sivananda Centenary Boys’ High School in Bhubaneswar on its 35th annual day recently. Deb appreciated the association of Nalco in providing innovative solutions through smart classrooms. Chand spoke about the importance integrated value-based education for developing the moral character and personality of an individual. He also reiterated the commitment of Nalco in associating itself to develop social, cultural and welfare activities. 

Teachers’ meet

A two-day capacity building programme workshop on science was organised for teachers by the Central Board of Secondary Education at DPS Kalinga. The resource persons were Sunita Mishra, Sai International School and Arpita Das of Mother’s Public School. Around 70 teachers from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack attended the workshop. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Anuradha Rakshit, principal of the host school.
