Kanwarias or devotees of lord Shiv approach the Lingaraj Temple in the month of shravan. The severe waterlogging conditions in the state capital following heavy rain made it difficult for them to cross the Cuttack-Puri Highway near Bomikhal, since the portion was severely inundated. The highway, which connects Cuttack with Puri, is frequently used to reach the temple.
