Cuttack, Oct. 5: Inadequate measures on the part of traffic officials to streamline vehicular movement on the busy junction at Belleview near CDA creates problems for the commuters here.
The commuters want the authorities to install digital traffic signal or a traffic aid post for regulating traffic at Ring Road near Belleview.
Amit Sahu, a commuter, said there was an extra rush during peak hours at Belleview.
A second cut-point near Belleview is also affecting the traffic flow.
A report published in The Telegraph on May 11, 2011, and another on May 4, 2012, highlighted the disorganised traffic at Belleview.
Following this, traffic constables were deployed to regulate the rush at Belleview and the second cut-point here from 9am to 11am and 4pm to 6pm.
“The traffic constables are posted for just two hours in two shifts,” said Sudhakar Mishra, another commuter.
Traffic officials said that at present there was no proposal to set up an electronic traffic signal at Belleview.
“We will review the need for extra deployment of traffic personnel shortly,” said a senior traffic official.
