Bhubaneswar, May 10: Fly Easy, a subsidiary of the Bangalore-based ABC Aviation and Training Services Private Limited, plans to connect the city to the country's information technology capital by early August.

Officials of the airline said the airline would use 110-seater Embraer 190 (E190) in the sector and had already got the necessary permission to start operations.

Fly Easy had submitted its summer flight schedule to the city airport director on May 6.

According to the tentative schedule, the airline's first flight will take off at 6.45am from Bangalore and reach Bhubaneswar at 8.40am. The return flight will depart at 9.10am and reach Bangalore at 11.05am.

The evening flight will take off from Bangalore at 6.50pm and reach Bhubaneswar at 8.45pm. It will depart at 9.10pm and will reach the IT capital at 11.05pm.

After Jet Airways withdrew its Bangalore-Bhubaneswar flight from October 27, 2013, Fly Easy came to the city and interacted with the Airports Authority of India and state government officials and started the process of launching its service in this sector.

Vice-president (airport operations) of ABC Aviation and Training Services Private Limited R. Promod said: "We cannot tell you now exactly when we are starting our journey, but it will be around July end or August first week. We are a new airline and we are starting operations this year."

Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport Sharad Kumar said: "The airline has already received permission from our Bangalore counterparts to have rights of night parking facilities. We are going to issue permission of parking at identified locations from our end shortly."

He said that with more airlines now connecting the city, air travel costs would go down and the services would become better.

An IT professional and frequent flier B. Sailaja said: "I am at present working in Mumbai and will be shifting to Bangalore by the end of the month. I will definitely look forward to flying with Fly Easy and hope they start operations as early as possible."

Tour operator Sarat Acharya said: "New flights to Bangalore is a welcome development because thousands of Odia IT professionals are now based in that city. I hope the city airport gets international flights soon, apart from more domestic ones."
