Bhubaneswar, Aug. 23: The state culture department has transferred the principal of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Tamasarani Das Mohapatra, following protests by students. They had been demanding her ouster alleging her involvement in misappropriation of college funds.

Student found dead

A third-year Plus III student of Joranda College in Dhenkanal was found dead at his home on Saturday night at Natima village. His throat was slit by a sharp weapon. In another incident in Jagatsinghpur, three brothers were awarded life sentence for the murder of a woman.
