Sambalpur, Jan. 9: Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the incident that took place at Khaliapali in Bargarh town police limits yesterday.
A Plus Three second-year student Deba Bhoi committed suicide after killing Saroj Bhoi, one of his roommates, and injuring two others on Monday night. Ramachandra Bhoi and Lal Saheb Rana are undergoing treatment at VSS Medical College and Hospital in Burla and are critical. All of them are Plus Three second-year students and staying in a room.
The police have recorded the statements of the students in the presence of an executive magistrate. However, the cops have not found anything that might throw light on the reason behind the crime. Inspector in charge of Bargarh town police station Arjun Kumar Sahu said: “The students are yet to recover completely. They have not told us anything clearly.”
“They said they did not know who attacked them as they were asleep when the incident took place. However, we do not suspect involvement of any outsiders. The reason behind the incident can be ascertained after the investigation,” said Sahu. Yesterday, the police found Saroj Bhoi, Ramachandra Bhoi and Lal Saheb Rana lying prone in the room. Deba Bhoi was found hanging from a tree nearby.
Saroj died while being taken to hospital.
