Accused identified

Bhubaneswar: The witnesses in the harassment case on the outskirts of the state capital  identified three accused who were allegedly involved in the molestation and groping incident of three girls during test identification (TI) parade here on Tuesday. The parade was conducted in the presence of a magistrate in Jharpada jail. The accused, all in mid 20s, were identified by three girls who were allegedly physically harassed on Patia-Nandankanan road on Friday.

Business ease

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha has been recognized as a leader state in implementation of ease of doing business last year, said chief secretary, AP Padhi here on Tuesday. He directed the officials of the concerned departments to implement the reform action points within specified time limit.

Poachers held

Balasore: Two poachers were taken into custody by forest personnel for poaching activities in Padampur protected reserve forest in Rajnagar Mangrove (Wildlife) Forest division. Sources said nine dead migratory birds of Gadwall duck species, which were protected under schedule-1 of the Wildlife Protection Act were seized from their possession.

Mahima case

Paradip: Odisha Stevedores Limited , DGM (Finance), Rabindra Dalei appeared before police on Tuesday, here for questioning in connection with the murder of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited, general manager Mahendra Swain.

Jumbo fury

Angul:  Panic gripped Satkosia of Angul and Tangi in Khurda after two persons, including a forest department staff, faced jumbo fury at two places on Tuesday morning. A resident of Tuluka village in the Satkosia sanctuary was trampled to death by an elephant. In another incident, an employee of the forest department, Surendra Behera, was injured by an elephant attack at Mangalajodi village in Tangi.

Group clash

Angul: Tension gripped Hulirisingha in Angul police limits here after two groups clashed over passing comments on Tuesday.
