Cuttack gate

Cuttack: The Cuttack Roads and Building Division has floated tenders to build a permanent welcome gate to the city near the temple of Goddess Chandi. “The bidding will begin on November 28. We expect the project to completed within six months of the finalisation of the tender and award the work order,”  said Pramod Nayak, the executive engineer (roads and building), Cuttack.

Surrender

Malkangiri: As many as 222 Maoist sympathisers, including 19 militants, surrendered on Tuesday. The rebels and their sympathisers, that also included 172 women from Telkunda village surrendered before the district superintendent of police M. Mohapatra.

Man held

Balasore: Cops arrested a 24-year-old man on charges of committing burglary and recovered stolen ornaments, including gold worth Rs 4.5 lakh. The accused has been identified as Rabindra Dalei of Berhampur village in Rupsa police station limits.
