Coastal security
Bhubaneswar: Coastal security network, along with infrastructure support for Coast Guard, will be strengthened in Odisha. The decision was taken at a meeting between chief secretary Gokul Chandra Pati and commander of Coast Guard (northeast) K.R. Nautiyal in the state secretariat. The chief secretary also advised the Coast Guard commander to mobilise more Odia youths to join the Indian Coast Guard service through their recruitment centre operating in Paradip.
Tax growth
Bhubaneswar: The state has achieved revenue generation growth of around 33 per cent from its own tax sources. Similarly, the revenue collection from non-tax sources has been more than Rs 2,334 crore showing a growth of around 13 per cent over the past one year. The overall revenue generation from both these sources records a growth of around 28 per cent over the past year.
Vacancy call
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday instructed all the departments to fill up the vacancies as soon as possible. He instructed the department heads to co-ordinate with the employment mission in filling up the vacancies. The empowered committee of the finance department has approved filling up of 68,365 vacancies.
Reservation
Sambalpur: An India Post Passenger Reservation System counter was opened at the sub-post office at Dharamagrh town of Kalahandi district on Tuesday. Users can purchase railway reservation tickets at the counter.
