Woman dead

Sambalpur: A 48-year- old woman, who was working as a teacher in the Town School, was found dead in her house at Budharaja area within Ainthapali police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Manjushree Saraf, who was staying alone at a rented house in the area.

Liquor seized

Paradip: Jagatsinghpur police have arrested three bootleggers and made a seizure of 75 litres of illicit Indian made foreign liquor and country-made liquor ar two separate interceptions in the urban areas.The court rejected their bail application and remanded them to jail custody, police said.

Loot

Paradip: Two motor-cycle-borne criminals snatched Rs 18,400 cash at gun point from a panchayat executive officer near Aanlabank traffic junction on the Paradip-Daitary expressway. The goons intercepted the executive officer of Golarhaat gram panchayat Gokulanand Manik, who was on the way to panchayat office.

Impostor

Bhubaneswar: Town police have arrested an impostor, who had extracted money from an ambulance driver posing as a policeman on Tuesday.

ESI hospital

In its January 3 edition, The Telegraph had carried a news item titled “ESI hospital seeks facilities”. The news item, which was based on the facts given by the hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. T B Batra, had reported on the vacancies of doctors at the ESI facility in Rourkela. However, one of our readers has pointed out that the hospital has a qualified physiotherapist, who has been working with the hospital for the past six years.
