Bhubaneswar, June 27: Akashvani Cuttack has bagged six titles in the annual Akashvani awards held in Delhi for the year 2010.

The awards were distributed in various categories of production of songs, drama and other radio programmes.

Over 200 radio centres of All-India Radio had participated in the event.

Rutu Pare Rutu, which was directed by Basant Mohanty emerged as winner in the song category while Manachitra ku nei katha kuha, a programme for national integration bagged the prestigious Lasa Kaul prize.

Radio Sulochana, a programme for women and Biswanath Mishra’s chorus song also emerged winners in the respective categories. Pradipta Srichandan’s skit Apurba Purbaghata’ stood second in the skit category.

“These prizes will definitely boost the moral of our employees and artistes and will help enhance our performance,” said Sudha Mishra, director of All-India Radio in Cuttack.
