Imphal, Sept. 23: United Sporting Association humbled Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union by two goals in the 6th Manipur State League 2011-12 at Mapal Kangjeibung.

With the win, United Sporting Association now have seven points.

The United Sporting team opened its account in the 24th minute after John Lalremsang Hmar’s long ranger caught the Tiddim Road keeper napping.

S. Ratan Singh scored the second and final goal for United in the 38th minute, taking advantage of a goalmouth melee. Boyesh Rangla and Haolengou Kipgen of United Sporting got a yellow card each for wasting time.

As the league entered the seventh round, NISA retained the lead with 19 points while Manipur Police Sports Club and North Eastern Reorganising and Cultural Association have 11 points each.

Anouba Imagi Mangal and Tiddim Road Athletic Union have 10 points each, Southern Sporting Union nine points, Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union eight points, Youth Welfare Club and United Sporting Association with seven points each and Youth Development Organisation with one point.

Women’s hockey: Six women hockey players featured among the probables for the fourth National Junior Women’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Invitational Tournament 2011, which will be held in New Delhi from November 8-12.
