Handicraft fair

Second Northeast handloom and handicrafts fair will continue at Nedfi Haat, Ambari, till Monday. Altogether 35 units from the region are participating in the fair. Handicraft products like sital pati and bags, jute crafts, and Kauna craft of Manipur are the main attractions.

Seminars

The department of anthropology, Dibrugarh University, has invited papers for an ICSSR, New Delhi-sponsored national-level seminar on Tribal Development in Northeast India: Problems and Perspectives on November 5 and 6. Call 0373-2370252, 2321361.

A national seminar on Social Role of Media and Building Up of a National Information Resource Centre-Cum-Archive for Northeast at Institution of Engineers, Guwahati on September 21.

A national seminar on medicinal plants in the Northeast will be held at Government Ayurvedic College, Guwahati, from October 7-10.

Club meeting

The members of Dibrugarh Neuro Club will meet at G.M. Hospital, Dibrugarh, on Thursday at 7 pm.

School reunion

The ex-students? reunion of Tezpur Bengali Boys? Higher Secondary School will be held on September 25 and 26.

Teaching techniques

A national seminar, on Teaching Techniques in Higher Education, organised by All India Association For Educational Research, special interest group, in collaboration with the department of education, Cotton College, will be held on September 23 and 24. For details, call 98640-32821, 0361-2547316.

Refresher course

A UGC-sponsored refresher course, organised by the department of economics, Nehu, is under way till September 29.
