Arrested Ulfa leader Ramu Mech reached home on Friday evening after 25 years, escorted by a police team. His family members (Nikunja Konwar, his elder sister and daughter Aparajita Konwar in picture above) and a few neighbours were waiting in the courtyard of his house at Ramugoan in Sivasagar district to receive him. Senior advocate Nekibur Zaman informed the family on Thursday that Ramu, alias Prabin Konwar, had been granted parole for two days by Gauhati High Court to attend his father’s shraddha.
