
Guwahati, June 5: South Point English High School and Don Bosco School, Panbazar, registered victories in their respective matches of the 11th Dhan Sena Sinha inter-school cricket tournament organised by River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre at Latasil playground here today.
In the first match, South Point posted a 68-run win over Nichol's English High School. Put in to bat, South Point made 115 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Erik Roy with 25 from 15 deliveries, Sayan Dey with an unbeaten 20 off seven balls, Joydeep Singh with 20 and Dhruvraaj Borah with 19 were the main contributors.
For Nichol's, Subham Kumar and Swarish Choudhury took three wickets each.
In reply, Nichol's were bundled out for 47 in 15.2 overs. Rahul Sharma with 25 off 27 deliveries was the only batsman to make an impression. Dhruvraaj bagged five wickets for seven runs in four overs.
In the second match, Don Bosco defeated Royal Global School by 54 runs. Electing to bat, Don Bosco put up 138 for six in 20 overs. Aman Bothra stroked his way to a 42-run cameo off just 19 deliveries.
For Royal, Deepesh Sood and Chintom Deka took three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, Royal were restricted to 84 for eight in 20 overs. Risabh Agarwal, who remained unbeaten on 24 off 20 deliveries, was the only one to get to double figures.
For Don Bosco, Vishal Maheswari bagged five wickets conceding just 10 runs in three overs, while Rohan Dutta and Mridutpal Mahanta took one wicket each.
Tomorrow, Srimanta Sankar Academy will take on Nichol's in the first match while Fairyland English School will lock horns with Don Bosco.
