Wushu medals School meet Jorhat cricket

Wushu medals

Guwahati: Assam bagged seven medals in the fifth junior national wushu championship in Jalandhar recently. L. Jhaljit Singh won gold in taijiquan and taijiian, while T.N. Modun bagged a gold in Daoshu and a bronze in chanquan. Alpana Boro won silver in nandao. In san-shou (free-fighting), Nabanita Sonowal bagged a gold in the 52 kg category and Salim Ali a silver in the 48 kg event.

School meet

Guwahati: Kamrup Academy and Jagiroad Lakhi Deka School won their respective matches in the first Annapurna all-Assam invitational inter-school (under-16) cricket tournament at Latasil ground here on Monday. Kamrup Academy defeated Gurukul Grammar School by 14 runs, while the Jagiroad school beat Netaji Vidyapeeth HS School by 33 runs.

Jorhat cricket

Guwahati: Tarazan High School and Edith Douglas High School, Mariani, posted contrasting wins in Monday?s matches of the Bhabani Prasad Baruah Trophy inter-school cricket meet at Jorhat Stadium. Tarazan School (66/4) beat Dipankar Vidyapith (65/8) by six wickets, while Edith Douglas (99/7) drubbed Maryland School (92/5).
