Jorhat B-league title for Radiant
Guwahati: Radiant Club on Friday emerged champions in the Jorhat District Sports Association’s (JDSA) second division cricket league for the Khema Bordoloi Trophy. They defeated Hindustani Nabayubak Sports Club by six wickets in the last league match. Batting first, the Hindustani batsmen were all out for 113 in 29.2 overs. Vivek Malhotra (20) and Bhaskar Bhatta (19) were the main contributors, while Azad Choudhury and Khwaza Ashad claimed three and two wickets respectively conceding 20 and 24 runs for Radiant. In reply, Radiant won the match in 22.2 overs losing four wickets. Imdad Hussain remained unbeaten on 40 and Azad Choudhury scored 24. Ranjan Baruah claimed two for 14. Radiant won the league with 16 points while Hindustani finished runners-up with eight points.Town Club get walkover
Guwahati: Gauhati Town Club got a walkover from Narakasur Jyoti Sangha on Friday at the Guwahati Sports Association’s (GSA) Madhabram Bora first division cricket league. New Star Club will meet Narakasur on Sunday. Saturday’s match between City Cricket Club and Maharana AC has been put off as the Nehru Stadium will host a friendly between the Chief Secretary’s XI and Kamrup Dep-uty Commissioner’s XI.Deodhar Trophy ties in Silchar
Silchar: The Silchar District Sports Association (DSA) will host two one-dayers of the inter-zonal Deodhar trophy at its 20,000-capacity Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium here. The first match between the south and central zones has been slated for January 15, while the other between west and north zones would be played on January 27.
