Guwahati, Nov. 29: The Sentinel, DY 365 and Assam Photo Journalists Association sealed their places in the semi-finals of the Harendranath Baruah Football Championship of the fifth Northeast Media Sports Festival at the Newfield here today.

DY365 got the better of Agradoot 2-0 while The Sentinel thrashed Dainik Janambhumi 8-0 in their respective quarter-final matches. In another quarter-final, Assam Photo Journalists Association edged past Niyamiya Barta 4-3 via tie-breakers.

In some of the other matches played earlier in the day, Niyamiya Barta got the better of All-Manipur Working Journalists Association by a solitary goal while News Time Assam edged past The Telegraph 1-0. Assam Photo Journalists Association beat Asomiya Khabar 4-0 while Niyamiya Barta got the better of Ajir Dainik Batori 5-3 via tie breaker. In another match Dainik Janmbhumi beat News Time Assam 1-0.

The Sentinel will face Assam Photo Journalists Association in the first semi-final while DY365 will lock horns with G Plus in the second semi-final on Saturday.
