Kokrajhar, Nov. 30: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration has tightened security in the belt and along the international border, with just a few hours to go for byelection to the two constituencies, 24-Mushalpur and 26-Daragajuli.

The administration has restricted movement of vehicles along the Indo-Bhutan border for 24 hours, beginning 6 tomorrow morning.

They have also divided the area into three zones —Mushalpur, Barama and Tamulpur — which are again divided into 20 sectors.

Each sector will have a zonal officer and sector official apart from the paramilitary forces consisting of Assam police and CRPF.

“They will all be provided with wireless sets,” Baksa superintendent of police B.B. Gogoi told The Telegraph.

“Moreover, a mobile force has been kept reserved in each zone. They will respond when necessary. Depending on the ‘sensitiveness’ of the polling station, we have deployed the required number of security forces,” the police official said today.
