Guwahati, Aug. 10: The 10th edition of Malestorm, an male fashion pageant organised by D'Kreative People, will spread the message of Say No To Tobacco this year.

The event, to be held here on August 18, will feature 27 male models. The finalists were selected from among a host of aspirants from the region at an audition held on June 11. The winner will get direct entry to Ru-Ba-Ru Mr India 2018 to be held in Delhi.

Malestorm is the first male pageant of the region and it has been held every alternate year since 2000.

Fashion designer, choreographer and a key organiser of the event Prasantt Ghosh said, "I started Malestorm in 2000 because there was nothing for men in the fashion industry of the Northeast during those days. Male models can have very successful careers for about five to eight years, depending on their staying power." He said every edition of the pageant has a social message. This year it is Say No To Tobacco.
