Missing student still untraced

Kokrajhar: Fourteen-year-old Abdul Hasim Ali, who went missing on Wednesday, could not be found till Sunday. Hasim of Duramari village and a Class X student of Chandrapara High School in Kokrajhar went missing on his way to the town. His family, suspecting that he has been abducted, lodged an FIR at Kokrajhar police station on Saturday but the police failed to take any action, they said. The family members on Sunday approached the media for help.

Rebels held

Dhubri: Two Multa activists, Robel Haque and Birhan Ali of Purtamari village under Lakhipur police station of Goalpara district, were arrested from Katapur village on Sunday.

Mishap death

Jorhat: Bidyananda Barkakati was killed on the spot on Sunday when the Maruti Alto he was driving on his way to Tezpur from Sivasagar, collided with a mini truck at Karaikhua on National Highway 37. His wife, who was travelling with him, was injured and had been admitted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.

Allotment

Dhubri: Fifty families displaced in the 1996 ethnic clashes were allotted houses constructed by the Rehab India Foundation at Nachamguri under Bongaigaon district on Sunday.

Two abducted

Nagaon: Unidentified men abducted two employees of a retail outlet of the Indian Oil Corporation, Srikant Singh and Padum Bora, at Doboka in Nagaon district on Saturday night.
