Dhubri, July 19: Around 40 passengers were injured when a Goalpara-bound bus from Bongaigaon fell into a ditch by NH37 while overtaking a mobile van at Kalyanpur under Goalpara police station today. The injured were taken to Goalpara civil hospital. The condition of 10 injured persons is said to be critical. Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh administration has decided to use high-power water pumps to pump out rainwater clogging various parts of the town following heavy showers over the past few days. Jorhat: A woman, Putu Hazarika, 65, of Seujipar on the eastern outskirts here died of encephalitis syndrome at the Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh, on Tuesday morning. Dhubri: An NDFB linkman Abul Kalam was arrested by jawans of 19 Madras Regiment from Rajapara under Bogribari police station of Kokrajhar district on Tuesday. A handmade single shot AK-47 rifle, ammunition, NDFB leaflets and extortion notes were seized from him.
