Goalpara, June 30: Three Ulfa cadres and nine Rabha Viper Army militants laid down arms at the Goalpara superintendent of police headquarters here today. Officials of the army’s Red Horns Division, Goalpara deputy commissioner Preetam Saikia and superintendent of police Syamal Prasad Saikia were present at the ceremony. The surrendered arms included seven pistols, five rifles, live ammunition rounds, hand grenades and explosives.
