Probe into fake jobs

Jorhat, Oct. 16: A two-member team of the CM’s vigilance cell arrived here and are conducting an inquiry into the alleged fake appointments of about 110 grade III employees in the district under the joint director, health, here from 2009 till date. The employees have been asked to furnish details of all appointment letters and transfer orders.

Two arrested

Haflong: Police arrested two persons from Manipur involved in car theft and recovered a Bolero from Retjol in Dima Hasao district.

Border visit

Silchar: A six-member team of MLAs ended a two-day visit to the India-Bangladesh border in Karimganj and Cachar districts on Wednesday.
