Guwahati, Sept. 20: Legislators belonging to the anti-Tarun Gogoi camp tonight formally moved parliamentary affairs minister Nilamani Sen Deka demanding immediate holding of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting to discuss problems confronting party legislators.

Seven MLAs went to Deka’s residence to submit the application around 9.50pm, parliamentary secretary Mansing Rongpi told The Telegraph. He added that 31 MLAs have signed the application. The move came within hours of reports about senior Congress legislator Sarat Borkataky making a similar demand along with 11 other colleagues who are in the Gogoi camp. The demand for CLP meeting has been doing the rounds for the past several months.

The CLP, which has 79 members, is divided between Gogoi and cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma camps.
