Aizawl: The Mizoram government on Monday constituted the interim council of Sinlung Hills.
A notification issued by additional secretary in the state home department, Lalbiakzama, said the government had constituted the Sinlung Hills Council for an interim period of six months with immediate effect. The interim council will be headed by former HPC (D) spokesperson Lalthalien as chief executive member, while former HPC(D) working chairman L.T. Hmar will be the chairman, it said.
The group's deputy army chief Lalbiaknunga has been appointed as deputy chairman of the interim council which will have four executive members and five members.
Aizawl deputy commissioner A. Muthamma has been asked to convene the first meeting of the council within a month of the issue of the notification and shall administer oath of affirmation to each member in the first sitting.
Formation of Sinlung Hills Council is the result of peace accord signed by the Mizoram government and HPC (D) on April 2.
