April 26: Forget keys. You can unlock your doors and safes through facial or fingerprint identification like in the sci-fi Hollywood movies.

This high-tech biometrics security solutions will be launched in the city in the first week of May.

An official spokesperson for the Calcutta-based company said they are the first to officially launch their products in the country.

The products include safes, fingerprint door locks, biometric doorguard, access control system with time attendance, iris door locks and click secure optical mouse.

The iris or facial-reading locks allow access if the eye-print matches the imprint registered in the device. The spokesperson said the process takes three seconds and in case of mismatch it will raise an alarm.

?The laser beam reads the eyes as well as the face and only if it matches with the registered imprint will the door unlock. It is the best security system ever introduced in the country. Some foreign countries have already placed orders for our products,? he added.

The fingerprint locks work similarly. Four pencil batteries are used to unlock the doors of safes 4,500 times. One can register up to 50 fingerprints in the fingerprint safes and 200 in the biometric door guards.

?No other person can ever manipulate nor copy the fingerprint. The fingerprint of the person will be stored in the feed bank of our product. No other system is as safe as this one,? he added.

The access control system with time device can be used in banks, research organisations, high-security complexes, the police department, airports, universities, hospitals, hotels and corporate offices.

The device will help the employer to access entry and exit of office staff as both the entry and exit time will be registered in the device.

Officials of the company will also meet government officials to install their system in the state secretariat.

The research laboratory at Gauhati University has already installed the access control system.

Speaking about the click secure access mouse, the spokesperson said it would give desktop security to the user through the biometric login system.

?The mouse has the most advanced fingerprint scanner authentication. It will disable other users from getting access to the computer. One can also encrypt and decrypt confidential files by using this system,? he said.
