Guwahati, Dec. 6: Guwahati Town Club today defeated Rupjyoti Club by 113 runs in the second match of the 11th Dinesh Barua memorial cricket tournament at the Latasil ground here.

Propelled by Pankaj Kalita’s 61 and Naba Kalita’s unbeaten 54, the winners piled up 194 for two in 25 overs. Mantu Rajjak remained undefeated at 28.

Faced with the daunting task of making almost eight runs an over, Rupjyoti lost all their wickets for 81 in the 15th over. Uttam Das and Dibyajyoti Das were the only notable contributors with 31 and 14 runs respectively. Binoy Kalita took three for 16.

All-round performance by Amrit Giri helped Noonmati Cricket Academy trounce Ankurjyoti Cricket Academy by six wickets in the opening match yesterday. Tomorrow, hosts Ankurjyoti Club will take on Rehabari Unnayan Samity.
