Kokrajhar, March 18: BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary today flagged off an excursion trip of around 500 students of Class IX under Gyan Yatra.

The students will visit Central Institute of Technology, Bodoland University, BTC secretariat, deputy commissioner’s office, office of superintendent of police, Gaurang Park, Diplai Beel, Srirampur gate, Maronai tea estate, Jamduar, among others.

during the trip for the knowledge.

Rabi Sankar Borgoyary, District Programme co-odinator, RMSA said that the class IX students of 46 provinsialised HSS, HS and High Madrasa of the district was allowed for excursion trip under Gyan Yatra as per guideline of Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA).

Atleast 7257 class IX students would get the benefit of the scheme.

Borgoyary, who is also the Inspector of Schools, said that in the first phase around 27 schools were selected and will go for the trip till March 26.

Basumatary said that the excursion trip would provide the students to get first hand knowledge about the place.

He said that the programme would broaden the knowledge of the students regarding their region. �
