
U-16 SCHOOL CRICKET
Guwahati, Oct. 15: An all-round show by Angagudit Gogoi helped Delhi Public School inflict a 179-run drubbing on Little Flower School in today's match of the sixth Sitaram Agarwala under-16 inter-school cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium here today.
Electing to bat, DPS amassed 290 for three wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Angagudit, the first down batman for DPS, remained not out and scored 73 runs off 94 balls. He sent six hits to the ropes. Rohan Hazarika scored 71 runs (4x11) off 99 balls, Hrishikesh Das made 33 runs off 14 balls while Aryaman Tewari notched up 31 runs off 34 balls for DPS.
Zayed Khan, Ashif Ilahi and Majharul Islam took one wicket each for Little Flower by giving away 32, 33 and 27 runs respectively.
In reply, Little Flower were bundled out for 111 in 36 overs. Barring a dogged 35 off 99 balls by Subhrargam Bharali, the rest of the Little Flower batsmen cut a sorry figure as they could not even get to double figures. Projoy Choudhury was the highest wicket taker for DPS. He took three wickets for 24 runs in seven overs. Angagudit bagged two wickets for four runs in six overs while Niraj Bora scalped two wickets for 20 runs in six overs. Angagudit was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Tomorrow, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti will clash with Modern English School.

In the boys' under-14 singles semi-finals, Rishav Brahma defeated Spondan Goswami in straight sets (6-1,6-4) while Arnav P. Das fought hard to beat Swagat Kumar Baruah 6-2 2-6,6-1.
In the girls' under-14 singles semi-finals, Janashree Saikia had little difficulty getting past Ishika Chakma with a 6-2,6-2 win, while Debangana Barkataki defeated Baishali Bora by a similar margin.
In the under-14 boys' doubles semi-finals, Rishav Brahma and Spandan Goswami defeated Uday J. Das and Mirem Chirag 6-3, 6-4, while Rajdeep Singh and Arnav P. Das came back strongly to beat Anish P. Phukan and Aayush J Sharma 4-6, 6-0, 10-7.
In the under-14 girls' doubles semi-finals, Debangana Barkataki and Ishika Chakma defeated Janasheen Jumana and Shakshi Baruah 6-1, 6-1, while Kristi Boro and Janashree Saikia beat Baishali Bora and Meghna Bhardwaj 6-4, 6-1.
School cricket: Fairyland High School defeated Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya by four wickets while CK Academy defeated Gurukul Grammar School in the 2nd Padma Kumar Saikia and Sandhan Saikia (under-16) school cricket tournament in Guwahati today.
