Guwahati: Calcutta-based Zing Restaurants Private Ltd, which runs the Rang de Basanti Urban Dhaba at Christianbasti here, is planning to set up another restaurant on the outskirts of the city.
Chief operating officer of the group, Tapan Sinha, said on Thursday that they are looking for a suitable location. The restaurant completed three months of operation in the city, the second in the country after New Delhi.
"We are looking to expand our business on the outskirts or in Meghalaya. The people of the Northeast are always looking for a new experience as far as different cuisines are concerned and expansion is a preferable option in the region," Sinha said.
"We are trying to get a liquor licence since food lovers often want to wash down their meal with a drink. We would be happy to cater to the needs," he said.
The restaurant has added new items like Punjabi rajma tikki, ainwayee cutless, mutton tili kebab, chicken spinach tikki, jamidari aloo, bhayankar kadhi chawal, bhayankar achari meat, bhayankar keema kaleji and achari meat.
