Dibrugarh, June 28: Dibrugarh police are still clueless on the reasons behind the suicide of Bimal Kumar, the general manager (project execution) of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL).

Kumar committed suicide yesterday at his quarters by slashing his left wrist. His body was sent today to Baroda to his family.

"Till now we cannot say why he committed suicide because the investigation is still at a preliminary stage, " said H. Barman, additional superintendent of police (headquarters).

A source said he was under pressure because of hisworkload at the BCPL project site. "He came here last year on a deputation fromGAIL and was working here as a general manager. He was very sincere inhis work," the source said.

The police have found a mobile phone and two laptops in his room. "The phone was locked. We will send the phone to the CID," said Sidheswar Bora, inspector-in-charge of Borbarua police outpost.

The police said they have found a number of medicines in his room which prove he was undergoingpsychiatric treatment.

"Till now no FIR has been lodged in this case but an investigation is on," he said.
