Coaching for UPSC exam

Guwahati, May 5: The North East Institute of Advanced Studies (NE-IAS), an education initiative of Ekoenergy and Climate Private Limited, today announced Mission 100, a project to produce 100 civil servants in the next five years from the region.

The institute hopes to achieve the target by providing coaching to aspirants of the civil services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. "We have undertaken a fellowship programme in which we will provide three full-time scholarships to the first three position holders in the NE-IAS selection test to be held on Sunday. The fellowship programme is worth Rs 1,20,000 per student for the 10-month course," said the institute's director Nripen Sarmah.

"There are also partial scholarships for nearly 15 students scoring 60 per cent and above in the selection test. The three full-time fellowships have been named after Anundoram Barooah, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and Gopinath Bordoloi," he said.

The 10-month course for the preliminary and main examinations of the UPSC will commence on June 21 and continue till April next year. Applicants for the course have been asked to visit www.northeastias.org for details.
