BTC reward for students

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has announced cash rewards for meritorious students.

Kokrajhar, June 21: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has announced cash rewards for meritorious students.

The rewards include Rs 2 lakh for each position holder in the HSLC and HS examination, Rs 2 lakh for each student who gets admission in IITs, IIMs and medical colleges, Rs 1 lakh for each student who gets admission in NITs and Rs 1 lakh for every student persuing PhD.

Besides, the council will provide Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 to students who secure 75 to 84 per cent and 85 per cent and above in HSLC and CBSE respectively. It will give scooties to 100 girl students of BPL families pursuing degree courses who secure 60 per cent and above in Class XII and whose homes are 15km from their college.

It announced financial aid amounting to Rs 3 lakh for 25 selected candidates who wish to take up coaching for UPSC and Rs 1 lakh for students who qualify in UPSC preliminary examination and prepare for the mains.

BTC director of education Rabi Shankar Borgoyary said steps were being taken for the development of education and to inspire students living in the BTAD.
