Flood relief 

Guwahati, Aug. 13: Numaligarh Refinery Limited Officers’ Association today contributed Rs 15 lakh to the chief minister’s relief fund while AGP legislators met chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh for flood affected people.

Donation

Guwahati: Members of Photography Club of India distributed clothes, medicines and food items collected during a photography exhibition here among 70 flood victims in central Assam’s Morigaon district on Friday.

Guwahati: Dispur on Saturday announced literary pension for 2016-17 to 43 litterateurs in the state.

Clean drive

Jorhat: Officers and staff of Jorhat district administration undertook a cleanliness drive in the premises and planted saplings 
as part of the three-day Independence Day celebrations from Saturday.

Jorhat: The district administration here has organised a community run from 7am from JDSA field on Sunday.

Sports aid

Guwahati: Assam government on Saturday announced regular sports pension of Rs 8,000 per month to 40 deserving sports personality of the state for the year 2016-17 and one-time financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to 20 sportspersons.
