Archer lauded for bagging silver

Imphal, April 1: Asian Grand Prix silver medallist archer P. Lily Chanu was feted at Manipur Press Club by a voluntary organisation, ACOAM Lup.

Chanu bagged the silver in the compound division of the 1st Asian Grand Prix Archery Championship held in Bangkok from March 9-15.

Lily, acknowledging the warm gesture, said this is the first time that she had got an international medal after two such exposures.

She added that she had got 25 medals from the National championship since she began pursuing archery in 2003.

She also said she was eyeing a medal in the Asian Games 2014. Youth affairs and sports commissioner R.K. Nimai Singh, who attended the felicitation, also lauded her effort and wished her more success in future.
