Nitin Mehrotra’s ethical fashion label Dressfolk has a line of classic linen jamdani sarees that are handwoven in Bengal. Moreover, 40% of the label’s proceeds go towards the welfare of artisans and weavers. The Charulata saree is a sky blue linen jamdani with breathy zari stripes and self-coloured tassels attached to its hem. When it comes to sarees more and more young buyers are steering towards muted tones or neutrals even when it comes to celebratory dressing. Minimalist pieces, especially versatile, pairable colours are in huge demand, since they work so well for destination weddings or even day-time ceremonies.

The Charulata saree will pair well with classic silver jewellery or even something stylised and modern. The Paroma and Konkona sarees from the line also come in varying shades of cool blue and green tones along with zari and booti work.
