Kolkata-based designer Sarika Kakrania’s label Pink City has a new occasion wear line called Mehviyat, which balances traditional elements with contemporary silhouettes. The Kimono bandhini is a mehendi green bandhej saree-style kimono kaftan which can be styled in multiple ways, depending on the memo. The ensemble has a silk base and is finished with tassel detailing on the waistline and sleeves. The fit-and-flare silhouette and an overlapping bodice is suited for almost all body types and also helps accentuate your gait.

It’s also a quicker alternative to a pre-draped saree, because it’s a single-piece ensemble. Pair it with an elaborate metallic belt or a dressy sash bag. For day wear, skip the bling and go for some dainty accents and a stiletto!
