Mad Men star Jon Hamm stars in the much-anticipated Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise. Hamm stars in the sequel as Vice Admiral Beau Cyclone Simpson, an authority figure who admonishes Maverick’s (Cruise) reckless training methods. “I play the boss, the guy who's shaking his finger and telling Tom Cruise that he's writing checks his body can't cash. It's exciting. The movie is tremendous. Talk about excited. I cannot wait for people to see this film. It's everything you want the sequel to Top Gun to be,” Hamm said recently.

The Mad Men star also sat down for a one-on-one to offer a breakdown of his role. He also pulled back the curtain on some key elements of the filming process, like his experiences of shooting on a navy base and on an aircraft carrier.
