Few have known how to stay at the forefront of public memory like Ozzy Osbourne has. The former Black Sabbath frontman, who turned 73 on December 3, has devised a signature look for himself that hasn’t quite been matched by any other musical act till date (not even the guys from Kiss). Apart from on-stage histrionics and kohl-lined eyes, the signature round-frame glasses have become synonymous with the septuagenarian heavy metal musician, who called himself the “Prince of Darkness” while he was fronting Sabbath.
Indeed, the Ozzy glasses are distinct from the Lennon glasses. And while the Paranoid musician’s unique and undeniably stylish bespectacled look has been a staple in his public appearance since the 1970s, it’s being emulated increasingly by mainstream artists in the 21st century.
