Kolkata-based Aparajita Bony Pathak launched Aparajita India in May this year. The idea behind this sustainable, size-inclusive and gender-fluid fashion brand is to incorporate traditional Indian textiles and handicrafts to modern fashion, and do it at affordable prices.
Her latest collection, Hazar Posh (a thousand flowers) features the well-known hand-painted Kashmiri papier mâché work on clutches and earrings. These delicately painted accessories are perfect to add a regal touch to any festive ensemble. “The idea of Hazar Posh, and applying it on clutches and earrings was inspired by my visit to Kashmir. I am trying to bring this dying art form alive again and support Kashmiri artists who have been struggling through the lockdowns,” said Pathak, who works with local artists from around the country.
You can DM Aparajita India on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/aparajitaindia/) to shop from the line of apparel and accessories.
