Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has always been a compelling storyteller and the same goes for his memoir. 

Published by Rupa Publications, The Stranger in the Mirror takes the reader into the mind of the talented film-maker as he writes about his formative years in school and college, and how his work has evolved since his ad film days and his directorial debut in feature films with Aks. 

The book also contains voices and first-person anecdotes from the likes of Waheeda Rahman, Abhishek Bachchan, Ronnie Screwvala, Atul Kulkarni, R. Madhavan, Divya Dutta and Prahlad Kakar. The foreword is written by music composer A.R Rahman, while Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon share their experiences of working with Mehra as well. 

Writer Reeta Ramamurthy Gupta helps Mehra structure the narrative, making for an interesting journey into the mind of the creator of films like Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi-6, among many others.
