Sunday Classics: ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens
In collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London
Published 12.12.21, 12:10 AM
This special collector’s edition from Puffin Classics combines the timeless Christmas classic by Charles Dickens with the works of William Morris. The cover for the book was conceptualised by illustrator Liz Catchpole, who picked some of the patterns by Morris which are housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge is one that is inextricably linked to Christmas. Reputed as a mean, old man, one Christmas eve, he is whisked away by three ghosts who show him the flaws of his bitter habits. After a night of recounting his past, reflecting over his present and peering into his future, Scrooge rethinks his ways and eventually grows to love Christmas.
An ideal Christmas gift for all age groups, this special edition of A Christmas Carol is one that will be cherished by both children and adults.
