Follow the story of a young woman in British India and her journey from Punjab to London

The Red Munia, written by Kamini Puri, is the tale of a young woman in the pre-Independence era. The story revolves around Laila who follows her inner calling to study journalism, and her wish to meet the Queen of England. The Red Munia follows Laila’s journey from Punjab to Bombay (Mumbai) and then to London to follow her dreams and to her eventually finding love.

Author Kamini Puri is a master degree holder in psychology. Apart from being an author, Puri is also a social activist who runs an NGO that offers assistance to senior citizens, and works towards women empowerment and children’s education.
