“This is a quiet debut that will find its way into your heart” — when Naveen Kishore, author and founder of Seagull Books recommends a book, you know it has to be on your reading list. Summer of Then by Rupleena Bose is described by Penguin Random House India as “a debut novel that relishes the interiority of women, especially about the often-unsettling intimacies of relationships—sexual, romantic and platonic—against the trauma of sexual assault and harassment.”
About Rupleena Bose: Rupleena is a teacher of English literature at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. The author was awarded the creative writing scholarship by Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship Holder at the University of Edinburgh. Rupleena is also an actor and director. The other book by her is In the Life of a Film Festival, published by HarperCollins in 2018.
