The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden has been the subject of numerous works of art – be it prose, poetry or paintings. In his latest work, Devdutt Pattanaik explores the links between Eden and tales from Abrahamic mythology. Published by Penguin Books, Eden: An Indian Exploration of Jewish, Christian and Islamic Lore, opens up the vast world of Abrahamic myths based on the idea of creating a world order rooted in the concept of one God. The author links these myths with popular stories from Egypt and Mesopotamia and breathes life into the many angels, demons, prophets and kings that take center stage here.

Known for his unique illustrations and captivating storytelling, Devdutt Pattanaik has authored more than fifty books and over a thousand columns on Indian myths and stories. His popular works include the Devlok series,  Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata, Myth=Mithya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology and Olympus: An Indian Retelling of the Greek Myth.
