The grand old storyteller from the hills has returned with yet another ‘Little Book’ and this time, it is a more personal take on India – the country which has been his home for 84 years. Published by Penguin Books, in A Little Book of India, Ruskin Bond takes inspiration from his own experiences and pens down an ode to the country’s heritage and diversity. Speaking about the book during an exclusive interview with My Kolkata, the author said, “It is basically celebrating 75 years of Independence, and going back to my memories of the country from 1947, when I was a schoolboy, up to the present.  It’s like a little memoir, a personal one, about how the country has changed and the major events over the years and a personal look at India.”

In each of his ‘Little Book’ publications, Bond draws from his own life, as well as the lives of great thinkers around the world, to curate a collection of quotes, thoughts and reflections that are designed to encourage and inspire the reader. Some of the other titles in this collection include The Little Book of Courage, The Little Book of Everything, The Little Book of Comfort and A Little Book of Life.

With India celebrating her 73rd Republic Day, it's the perfect time to lay your hands on this delightful new read.
